Few athletes were more excited to turn the calendar to 2014 than Robert Griffin III.
After setting the world on fire as a rookie in 2012, the Washington Redskins quarterback crashed and burned the following year, vastly underperforming on the field as his team limped to a 3-13 record — good for second-worst in the NFL.
Now, although 2014 is a mere two days old, it already is not going Griffin’s way. The former Heisman Trophy winner was on hand at the Fiesta Bowl on Wednesday night to see his heavily favored alma mater, Baylor, get blown out by Central Florida in the BCS debut for both teams.
The embarrassment didn’t end there for RGIII, though. With a live ESPN camera fixed on him, Griffin tried to get the attention of his wife, Rebecca — only to have her turn and walk away down the sideline.

Bryce Petty couldn’t take home the win, but at least he racked up a few style points.
UCF and Baylor combined for 94 points, the highest-scoring game in Fiesta Bowl history. It also gave us this image. http://t.co/nuRIXaVBx0—

If you think it’s cold in Boston this week, quit complaining. You could be stuck in Green Bay.
Well Sunday should be fun.. http://t.co/TySwibP55r—

The magic of Disney apparently does not apply to Jimbo Fisher.
