The San Jose Sharks had their opportunities to get on the board during the first period of Saturday night’s game, but they couldn’t capitalize.

The Bruins got into a bit of trouble toward the end of the first period after the Sharks created a scoring chance with a strong forecheck. Boston didn’t do itself any favors with some extra passes behind its net that led to a turnover and an eventual shot on goal, but Tuukka Rask was there to make the glove save.
