John Lackey made his Boston Red Sox spring training debut on Tuesday in a split-squad game against the Miami Marlins.
The veteran pitcher gave up two runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work. Miami defeated Boston 5-4. It was Lackey’s first game for Boston since he won the World Series-clinching Game 6 against the St. Louis Cardinals in October.
The Red Sox also played the Baltimore Orioles in a split-squad game Tuesday in Sarasota.
