Emerson College students Christopher Dobens and Nicholas Reynolds simply wanted to do something to help the city of Boston following the Boston Marathon bombing, but they had no idea that their plan would blossom into something so colossal.
The pair of students, along with graduate Lane Brenner, created the “Boston Strong” T-shirt campaign with the hope of selling a couple hundred shirts to raise money for The One Fund Boston. But by the end of the first week that the shirts were available to purchase, they had sold over 37,000.
That number only continued to grow in the following days and months as “Boston Strong” became a rallying cry for the city. The students have now raised over $1 million for the One Fund.
