The rivalry between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens is one for the ages. It’s been 62 years since the Bruins lost to Maurice “Rocket” Richard’s squad, but the memory of the seven-game semifinal lives on.
The rivalry is considered one of the greatest in sports, and the two teams have played one another more times in both regular season play and the playoffs combined than any other two teams in NHL history. Montreal holds the lead for all-time series wins, but the 2014 Bruins have a chance to cement their place in the historic rivalry with this season’s postseason meeting.
