With nine strikeouts and only two earned runs in seven innings, Boston Red Sox pitcher John Lackey’s last start in Arlington against the Texas Rangers was Lackey at his finest.
And he’ll be looking to do it again Saturday night against the Detroit Tigers at Fenway.
Lackey had a tumultuous start to his career with the Sox, but after returning from Tommy John surgery last season, he has seriously turned himself around and become almost a co-ace to Jon Lester.
See what Tom Caron and Dennis Eckersley had to say about Lackey in the video above.
