The Boston Red Sox dropped their fifth consecutive game with a 7-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night, but that wasn’t the biggest news of the day.
The Red Sox announced they are bringing back Stephen Drew on a one-year deal that is expected to be finalized Wednesday. The deal directly impacts shortstop Xander Bogaerts, who handled questions about the move like a true professional after the game.
Although the 21-year-old spoke with a twinge of sadness about moving to third base, he added that the addition of Drew makes the team better overall.
