Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara might not have been at his best in the second-round series against the Montreal Canadiens, but that might only be because the 37-year-old has set the bar so high for himself.
The B’s had hoped to lighten the blue-liner’s load during the regular season, but that became nearly impossible when Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid both went down with injuries. Chara ended up averaging 24 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time, which was nearly the same as last season, in addition to playing with an injury in the Montreal series.
But the Black and Gold were quick to note their captain still had plenty in the tank.
