Clay Buchholz’s stat line didn’t tell the entire story Wednesday night.

The Boston Red Sox starter, pitching for the first time since injuring his knee May 26, allowed two home runs to the Seattle Mariners in the second inning, then calmed down, retiring 11 of his next 12 batters faced. Buchholz allowed four earned runs in 7 1/3 innings on just 76 pitches with seven hits.

Red Sox manager John Farrell was impressed with Buchholz’s outing, saying the right-hander looked “confident” and “relaxed” on the mound.

Check out the video above to hear Farrell shower praise on Buchholz.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
