NESN 30: BC Wins First Of Three National Titles Under Jerry York (Video)

On April 7, 2001, Boston College jumped out to a commanding 2-0 lead in the NCAA national championship game against North Dakota after tallying two second-period goals.

The Eagles’ lead quickly disappeared, though, when the Fighting Sioux rallied for two late third-period goals, forcing overtime. But it was BC who prevailed, as sophomore Krys Kolanos scored the game-winner just 4:43 into the extra session to give the Eagles their first of three national titles under head coach Jerry York.

Check out the video above to relive the exciting game.
