The final two weeks before the All-Star break were supposed to be a time for the Boston Red Sox to climb back into contention. Of their final 13 games leading up to the Midsummer Classic, 10 are against teams currently sitting in fourth place or worse in their respective divisions.
That stretch has been a disaster thus far, though, as the last-place Chicago Cubs finished off a three-game sweep of the Red Sox with a 16-9 steamrolling Wednesday night.
With 10 games still to go before the break, NESN’s Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy looked back at the forgettable series and discussed what the Sox can do to pull themselves out of this tailspin.
