Sunday’s ninth annual “Futures at Fenway” event will feature a screening of “Field of Dreams” after the Lowell Spinners and Mahoning Valley Scrappers flaunt their skills on the diamond, so in honor of that news, a special guest made his way to Boston on Thursday.
Dwier Brown, who played Kevin Costner’s father in the classic baseball flick and was a part of arguably the most memorable scene in the movie, stopped by the set of “Red Sox First Pitch” to chat with NESN’s Tom Caron and Tim Wakefield.
Wakefield admitted that “Field of Dreams” is his favorite baseball movie and the ending still gives him goosebumps because, as Brown succinctly put it, “you always want one more game of catch with your dad.”

The game between the Spinners, the Red Sox’s Single-A affiliate, and the Scrappers, the Cleveland Indians’ affiliate, begins at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
