There’s still baseball being played.
For the Boston Red Sox, that fact has slipped into the background with trade rumors swirling around some of their best players, including pitchers Jon Lester, John Lackey and Andrew Miller.
Manager John Farrell insists, though, that he’s more frustrated about the Sox being 1-7 in their last eight games as of Wednesday rather than any impending trades.
“We came out of the All-Star break with some momentum,” Farrell said. “That continued through the first four games as we resumed play. And it’s stalled. I think that’s probably more the — that’s where my focus and frustration might originate from. The trading deadline is going to be here every year.”
