Despite strong seasons from the likes of Brock Holt, David Ortiz and Koji Uehara, Jon Lester will be the lone Red Sox player heading to Minnesota for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game.
Lester was a bit surprised to be the only one heading to the Midsummer Classic.
“Yeah, I mean, you’d figure there would be a few more guys,” Lester said Sunday after Boston’s 7-6 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.
Lester will make his third All-Star appearance thanks to a strong 2.73 ERA in 18 starts.
