With Liverpool FC in Boston for their match against AS Roma at Fenway Park, two of the team’s best players in history held a youth soccer clinic at Camp Harborview in Quincy, Mass.
Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler hosted the camp, which featured plenty of local children getting a few tips from the legends.
“If you’re not coached right, then you’ll learn the wrong things,” said Rush. “That’s why we have to (teach) them the right things.”
Rush and Fowler also are seeing a growth in soccer’s popularity in America.
“I think in terms of football in this country, we’ve seen the success of the U.S. team in the World Cup,” said Fowler. “It’s a matter of time before it really kicks off here, and I can’t wait.”
