First-round draft pick David Pastrnak is turning out to be everything the Boston Bruins wanted and more.
The 18-year-old Czech Republic native impressed just about everyone during the Bruins’ development camp, which saw on-ice sessions come to an end Sunday. B’s general manager Peter Chiarelli even said he was open to the idea the winger making Boston’s roster at some point next season.
“I was pleased with Pastrnak,” Chiarelli said. “There’s only been a couple of players that have showed that at these camps over the years. He’s still got a little ways to go, but I’m very happy with Pastrnak. I don’t want to place too much of a burden on this kid’s shoulders, but he’s good.”
