Boston Red Sox outfielder Rusney Castillo didn’t have a great second game in the Gulf Coast League, but that’s to be expected from someone who hasn’t played a game of organized baseball in a year and a half.
Castillo went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in the GCL Red Sox’s 8-1 victory over the GCL Yankees. The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo was there for all of the action.
“He admitted after the game the results weren’t there, but he just feels he’s getting a step closer just seeing more live pitching, and obviously he’ll continue to progress,” Cafardo said. “He’ll be in (Double-A) Portland on Wednesday.”
