Ronda Rousey’s UFC 190 showdown against Bethe Correia just got a whole lot more meaningful.
Rousey often goes by the nickname “Rowdy,” which was bestowed upon her as an homage to professional wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Sadly, Piper died Thursday night at the age of 61.
Piper is gone, but Rousey is making sure he isn’t forgotten. In an Instagram post Friday, the UFC star revealed she’d be dedicating Saturday’s bantamweight title fight to the man who inspired her nickname.

Defeating Correia will be no easy task, but now that she’s equipped with some extra motivation, Rousey is a pretty safe bet to make good on her promise and honor the original “Rowdy” with a win.
