UPDATE (3:07 a.m. ET): UFC president Dana White confirmed Ronda Rousey had been taken to the hospital after her loss in UFC 193, but it seemed to be for precautionary reasons.
“Ronda was transported (to the hospital) because she got knocked out,” White said, via USA TODAY Sports. “Her lip was split in half. Obviously she is completely bummed out and depressed, but that is it.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Ronda Rousey lost her UFC women’s bantamweight championship to Holly Holm in stunning fashion Saturday night.
Rousey, who recently had enjoyed so much success in the octagon, was knocked out 57 seconds into Round 2 by a devastating kick from Holm. The new champion then pounced on Rousey before the referee ended the match.
Rousey reportedly was taken to a Melbourne, Australia, hospital after the fight.

There is no immediate word on Rousey’s status or why she was taken to the hospital.
