Major League Baseball’s decision to put a clock on the Home Run Derby has made the annual event infinitely more exciting.
But when it comes to All-Star week festivities, it appears the Korean Baseball Organization still is ahead of the curve.
The KBO, home of some of the best bat flips you’ll ever see, recently held its All-Star Game, and it didn’t disappoint. But the fun didn’t stop there, as those who tuned in also were treated to a delightfully unique contest — a bunt derby.

Bunting has become a bit of a lost art in MLB, so it’s pretty awesome to see small ball get its due in the form of a bunting target practice that reminds us of a certain classic baseball video game.
The bunt derby wasn’t the only cool event at KBO’s All-Star festivities, however. A “Perfect Pitcher” contest, anyone?

Giancarlo Stanton’s epic Home Run Derby performance provided plenty of fireworks at this year’s Midsummer Classic. But we’d love it if MLB followed in KBO’s footsteps and spiced up All-Star week with cool events like these.
