Ronda Rousey received a unique proposal this week.
Jarrod Haschert, a United States Marine Captain stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, used Facebook to invite Rousey to his Marine Corps Ball in December. The video since has gone viral.
“You are my celebrity crush. I love everything you do, and I think that you are a phenomenal person,” the Marine said, “which is why it would be my honor to take you to the Marine Corps Ball on Dec. 11.”
Haschert’s roommate and friend apparently convinced him to post the video. While it’s unclear whether Rousey will accept the offer, especially since the UFC champion is scheduled to fight Holly Holm on Jan. 2 at UFC 195, one can’t fault a guy for trying.
Either way, thank you for your service, Capt. Haschert.
