UPDATE (11:50 P.M. ET): Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is expected to miss four to six weeks after breaking his shooting hand during an altercation with a team staff member.
A few hours after news of the incident surfaced, Griffin took to Twitter to apologize for his actions.

Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin was nearing a return from a quadriceps injury when it was reported Monday night he’d miss the rest of the team’s road trip with a hand injury. There were few details about how Griffin suffered the injury, which obviously was a bit of a head-scratcher given the fact Griffin hadn’t returned to game action.
However, ESPN’s Michael Eaves did some digging and reported Tuesday that Griffin’s hand injury stems from an altercation with a member of the Clippers equipment staff. Bottom line, it’s not a great look for Griffin.
Now, before we get too carried away making assumptions, details are still limited. And while there’s no real justifying what Griffin did, there might have been some sort of incident that at least makes it understandable. Still, it’s not a great situation for Griffin and the Clippers. Griffin has been out since Dec. 26 with the quad injury, and ESPN cited sources saying the hand injury should keep Griffin out “a matter of weeks, as opposed to days.”
