The Baltimore Orioles traded closer George Sherrill to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for two prospects, MLB.com reports.
Sherrill, 32, converted 20 of 23 save opportunities for the Orioles this season, maintaining a a 2.40 ERA in 41 1/3 innings.
The Dodgers will send third baseman Josh Bell and right-handed pitcher Steve Johnson to Baltimore. In Double-A Chattanooga, Bell, 22, was hitting .296 with 11 homers and 52 RBIs in 94 games. Splitting time between Single-A Inland Empire and Double-A Chattanooga, Johnson, 21, posted a 9-5 record to go with a 3.61 ERA.
