The Bruins began the process of cutting their roster down for the opening of the 2009-10 regular season with a round of cuts on Wednesday. Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced the release of four players from the club's NHL training camp.

Jamie Arniel, Andrew Bodnarchuk, Jeff Penner and Kevin Regan were all released from the main camp and assigned to the Providence Bruins, the Bruins' AHL affiliate.

With the four players being sent to AHL camp, there are now 36 players left in the Boston camp.

The Bruins finish off their preseason schedule this week with three games in three nights. They will play the Canadiens on Thursday, Senators on Friday and Blue Jackets on Saturday before having four days off for their season opener on Oct. 1 against the Capitals.
