Yusei Kikuchi isn't alone. Like many, many 18-year-olds across the globe, he just can't decide what he wants to do with his future.
His future plans, however, are very, very different from those of your average teen.
The southpaw sensation from Japan is considered by many to be the next big thing in professional baseball, but Kikuchi has yet to decide where he wants to take the rubber as a professional: Japan or North America.
"I can't decide if I should stay or go," Kikuchi told reporters on Tuesday. "Both America and Japan have great leagues. I was confused enough before the meetings."
Kikuchi, who can get reportedly heat up his fastball to 96 mph, spoke with representatives from the Red Sox, Dodgers, Rangers and Giants on Monday before meeting with the Yankees, Mariners, Mets and Indians Tuesday.
In addition to these eight meetings with MLB franchises, Kikuchi had an additional 12 meetings with local Japanese clubs.
"We won't get a decision today or tomorrow," said the hurler's high school coach, Hiroshi Sasaki. "Hopefully we will decide by the beginning of next week after consulting with his mum and dad."
