Bruins Outlast Thrashers For 6-4 Win

Bruins Outlast Thrashers For 6-4 Win It wasn’t pretty, but overall, it was a pleasant way to head into the holiday break.

In their last game before Christmas, the Bruins outlasted the Thrashers 6-4 at the TD Garden. Boston scored three times in 1:08 in the first period, tacked on another goal in the second and scored twice in the third to stay ahead of Atlanta in the conference standings.

The Thrashers made things interesting when they narrowed their deficit to 1 with less than five minutes remaining in the third, but Boston held strong and got an insurance, empty-net goal from Patrice Bergeron as the seconds ticked off the clock in the final period.

Marc Savard, Daniel Paille, Vladimir Sobotka, Zdeno Chara, Michael Ryder and Bergeron scored for Boston.
