Don Cahoon Breaks Down UMass' Second Half Struggles It’s been a tale of two seasons for University of Massachusetts men’s hockey. While the team played well in the first half of the season, the team has struggled out of the gates in the second half.

“In the first half of the season, we were on our toes every game, playing with real confidence,” said coach Don Cahoon said.

However, the team has taken a turn for the worse lately.

“We’ve been sporadic in terms of the second half of the season,” Cahoon said. “It seems like we’ve been pressing.”

The team is 16-14 overall heading into their game against Merrimack College on Saturday.
