Mike Cameron Discusses Jacoby Ellsbury, Red Sox Offense With Heidi Watney

Mike Cameron Discusses Jacoby Ellsbury, Red Sox Offense With Heidi Watney Red Sox outfielder Mike Cameron tells Heidi Watney he’s happy to be a member of the 2010 Red Sox, and is anxious to be a part of a “high-energy” situation in Boston.

“It’s pretty good,” Cameron said. “It feels pretty good to be a part of a really high-energy type of situation.”

The veteran outfielder will man center field at Fenway Park, a position Jacoby Ellsbury held last season. Ellsbury will move to left field this year, but Cameron says both he and Ellsbury can use spring training to prepare to play both center and left.

“Camp is a great opportunity for us to do both,” Cameron said.

Despite the loss of Jason Bay in free agency, Cameron says the Red Sox should have no trouble replacing Bay’s production in the lineup.

“There’s a lot of good offensive players here,” Cameron said. “The key is for guys to be able to maintain good health, to do the things they’ve been doing.”
