Bruin Patrice Bergeron and his Team Canada cohorts got off to a slow start in their matchup against Norway on Tuesday but rebounded just fine to win 8-0. As the favorites to win gold in Vancouver, the pressure is on for Bergeron and friends, but they are well equipped to deal with it.
“After the first period, I thought we took the game from them,” the 24-year-old said on Wednesday’s edition of SportsDesk. “We made some great plays and the puck finally went in.”
Bergeron told NESN’s Cole Wright that he is constantly amazed by the depth of talent on the Team Canada roster.
“It’s such an amazing experience right now and I’m just happy to be here,” Bergeron said. “There are so many great players on this team. … Anyone you’re playing with [on this team] is an amazing player.”
