Bruins Focused on Playoffs, Not Revenge

Bruins Focused on Playoffs, Not Revenge Exacting revenge against Pittsburgh for Matt Cooke‘s hit on Marc Savard is tempting — but the Bruins have their sights set on something more important than retribution.

They’re focused on the playoffs.

“I know what the expectations are, but it’s not like last year, when we had a 20-point cushion heading into the last two games,” Bruins bruiser Shawn Thornton told Naoko Funayama on W.B. Mason Bruins Face-Off Live. “We need the two points [coming from the Bruins-Penguins matchup]. We’re scraping for a playoff spot, and as upset as they would be if they don’t see blood, I’m sure they’d be more upset if we don’t make the playoffs.”
