Andrew Ference’s Return Bolsters Bruins’ Bruised Blue Line

Andrew Ference's Return Bolsters Bruins' Bruised Blue Line It’s been a while since the Bruins have had any good news on the injury front, but at least one injured player picked the perfect time to make his return to the ice.

Defenseman Andrew Ference, who has been out since March 25 with a hernia, appeared ready to go prior to Game 1 of the Bruins’ playoff series against the Sabres, bolstering a blue-line corps that has been painfully thin in recent weeks.

“It was a good week of practice,” Ference told NESN’s Naoko Funayama on Thursday’s edition of W.B. Mason Bruins Faceoff Live. “[I was] getting back to some more full-speed stuff with the guys. It’s tough to gauge when you’re just out there by yourself and just doing some fluid skating, but to get back in the drills where [the pace] picked up a bit, [the hernia] has held up well.”
