Tuukka Rask Named Winner of 2010 7th Player Award

Tuukka Rask Named Winner of 2010 7th Player Award Winning the Bruins’ 7th Player Award has become quite an honor on Causeway Street, and this season, nobody deserved it more than Tuukka Rask.

The rookie netminder compiled a 19-11-4 record with a 2.02 goals-against average, a .929 save percentage and five shutouts in his first full season with the Bruins. Entering Thursday’s game against Florida, Rask led all NHL goaltenders in GAA and was tied for first in save percentage with Buffalo’s Ryan Miller.

Voted on by Bruins fans at NESN.com, the 7th Player Award is an annual award presented to the Bruin who went above and beyond the call of duty, exceeding the expectations of Bruins fans during the 2009-10 season. 

Rask will also be awarded $5,000 to donate to the charitable organization of his choice.
