After Injuries and Failure in Playoffs, Bruins Hold Heads High “We had a plan,” said Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli on Tuesday’s edition of SportsDesk.

What was the plan?

“To inject younger players into the lineup in a competitive environment,” Chiarelli said. “Of course, our objective is to win the [Stanley] Cup, but we will continue to stick with that and we’ve got young players who will be given opportunities.”

Bruins players were at the TD Garden on Tuesday to pack up and move on with their offseason plans. The quest for the Cup will have to wait one more year after this year’s B’s fell to the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Members of the Black and Gold chimed in, including Andrew Ference, who said, “A lot of locker rooms would have folded and finished in second-to-last place.”
