Hunger, Desperation Fuel Flyers to Victory Over Bruins The Philadelphia Flyers served notice on Monday night with a 4-0 victory that sends the Eastern Conference semifinals back to Philadelphia for Game 6.

How did the Flyers win? Simple.

“The Flyers looked like the more prepared team, the more desperate team,” said NESN analyst Gord Kluzak on Monday’s edition of Bruins Overtime Live. “They got the Bruins out of position all night long.”

Barry Pederson agreed: “The Bruins, from the opening faceoff, looked like they were in quicksand. Give Philadelphia credit again — they were more desperate, the hungrier team.”

A lack of traffic in front of the goaltenders was a key that allowed Brian Boucher and Michael Leighton to combine on a shutout of the Bruins, according to Kluzak.

But that’s not all.

“The Flyers have so much skill up front … and the Bruins were unable to get any sort of creativity going,” Kluzak added.
