Joining Bruins a ‘Dream Come True’ For Nathan Horton

Nathan Horton spent the first six years of his career in sunny Florida where the weather was nice, the fans were laid-back and the goals came in bunches.

But wins? They were few and far between for the Panthers as the club failed to finish higher than third place in the Southeast Division in any of the past five seasons.

When Horton was traded to the B's leading up to the draft, it was a new beginning for the sniping winger, who couldn't be more eager to lace 'em up in the Hub.

"For me and my family, we’re very excited," Horton said at his news conference on Tuesday. "For me personally it’s a dream come true to come to such a stable and successful and historic organization. I couldn’t me more excited or nervous. I can't wait for it to start. I'm excited to be a Boston Bruin and be part of the Bruin family."

But Horton may be in for somewhat of a culture shock. From the moment you put on the Black and Gold, the fans, media and rivalries are like none other. Horton is up to the challenge.

"It was fun to play in Florida where I started my career," he said. "Once again, it’ll be a little different here. There are so many things running through my head right now. I'm just excited. It’s such a joy to be here and I'm thrilled. I'm going to work hard and just be happy and have fun."
