Kevin Youkilis Returns With Two Hits, Red Sox Beat Diamondbacks

Kevin Youkilis Returns With Two Hits, Red Sox Beat Diamondbacks The Red Sox continued to play well in interleague play as they downed the Diamondbacks Tuesday night 6-3.

Clay Buchholz improved to 9-4 on the season as he went 5 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out eight.

The first game of the three-games series with Arizona marked the return of Kevin Youkilis to the Red Sox lineup. Youkilis missed Sunday’s game after being hit by a pitch on the elbow in Saturday’s game against the Phillies.

“I haven’t played in a couple of days, so I felt a little awkward at first,” Youkilis told Heidi Watney on Red Sox Extra Innings. “We put together some great at-bats today; we could have probably had bigger innings, but we’ll take the win.”
