Those pesky vuvuzelas have already been given the boot from such sports venues as Wimbledon and Yankee Stadium, and now one of Ultimate Fighting Championship’s biggest events is following suit.

UFC President Dana White announced Wednesday that vuvuzelas will be banned from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas during the heavyweight title fight on Saturday.

"This decision was pretty simple for me," White told UFC.com. "Vuvuzelas make the most horrific sound I’ve ever heard. I’d rather let Brock [Lesnar] punch me in the face than hear 15,000 people blow on those things. This is the biggest heavyweight fight we’ve ever done. We’ll make enough noise this weekend when Brock and Shane finally step inside the Octagon."

Ditching the horns, fans will have to rely solely on their voices, hands and feet to cheer on their favorite fighter.

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will battle interim belt-holder Shane Carwin in this weekend’s UFC  116.
