Bill Hall Aims for Monumental Blast in Batting Practice at Fenway Park You can say whatever you want about Bill Hall, but you can’t say the man doesn’t dream big.

The Red Sox’ utility man wore a microphone during a recent batting practice session at Fenway Park, and he wasn’t satisfied with simply hitting a homer. He wanted mash a blast of epic proportions off the brick wall behind the center-field bleachers.

Daniel Nava, who’s only been in the big leagues for about a month, offered Hall his Triple-A paycheck if he did it. Hall, a veteran of nine seasons, said no thanks, so Nava offered his paycheck from independent league ball.

“How much is that?” Hall asked.

“Eighty bucks,” Nava answered.

“I’ll take a hug. A hug’s better,” Hall said.
