Jon Lester Likely to Lead Red Sox in Wins

Jon Lester Likely to Lead Red Sox in Wins One of the biggest reasons the Red Sox are still in the hunt for the AL East title despite their never-ending list of injuries is the performance of their starting pitching.

Most notably — Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz and John Lackey — have helped ease the literal pains the Sox have faced this year. Their contributions are turning into wins as well. Lester leads the staff with 11 wins, Buchholz has 10, while Lackey has been a winner nine times so far this season.

Saturday’s kgb Poll Question of the Day asked fans who they thought would be the Red Sox’ leader in wins come season’s end. The results were pretty lopsided. Lester was easily the winner with 86 percent of the vote, with Buchholz following him and Lackey bringing up the rear.

Tom Caron revealed the results on W.B. Mason’s Extra Innings. Check out the video below and see why Hall of Famer Jim Rice thinks Buchholz may be the one with the most “W’s” by the end of the season.
