Theo Epstein Anticipates Early August Return for Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia

Theo Epstein Anticipates Early August Return for Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia With all the speculation surrounding the current Red Sox injury-situation, who better to receive updates from than Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein?

Epstein caught up with NESN’s Peter Gammons during Red Sox Gameday Live to give the latest on the crowded Red Sox DL. Gammons specifically asked about the return of Victor Martinez, Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia.

“We’d love to get Victor back sometime on this road trip,” Epstein said. “Ellsbury and Pedroia, we’re looking to get those guys back right around the same time. Shortly after the trade deadline we’re looking to get those two guys back in the lineup.”

Once those three core players return, the Sox lineup will switch around for what seems to be the hundredth time this season, and hopefully the team can get back on the right track towards a postseason run.
