Dustin Pedroia Not Expecting to Perform at 100 Percent Upon Return As proven by Sunday's kgb Question of the Day, Red Sox fans aren't expecting Dustin Pedroia to bring the laser show in his first game back in the lineup, and the second baseman agrees with them.

Pedroia gave a pregame interview Tuesday, before making his return after missing 44 games due to a fractured bone in his foot. The former MVP told reporters he's not expecting to be 100 percent upon return, but he wants to make an immediate impact, similar to the return of catcher Victor Martinez when he came back from injury.

"It's tough, we were playing good ball, and then I got hurt and Victor got hurt," Pedroia said. "We all kind of got hurt at the same time, so that was tough. But you see how Victor impacted the lineup right away so hopefully I could do that."

Pedroia will start at second in Tuesday's series opener against the Angels at Fenway Park, and will bat in the two-spot.
