When the Brockton Rox called Bill Lee earlier this season to see if he'd throw out the first pitch at an upcoming game, the former major league pitcher agreed, but under one condition: he would throw the first pitch, and bunch more after that, too.
Lee told the club that he wanted to make a return, and on Sunday, he did just that, taking the mound for the Rox, a team in the independent Can-Am League.
Not only did Lee hold his, own, but he picked up the victory for the Rox as he shut down the Worcester Tornadoes for 5 2/3 innings.
Lee pitched well and was apparently well-received by his much younger teammates. Be sure to check out the video below from Sunday night's NESN Daily for more from Bill Lee's start in Brockton on Sunday
