Calvin Johnson's, Tony Romo's Disallowed Game-Winners Biggest Moments of First NFL Sunday Calvin Johnson beat the defensive back, got two feet down, fell in bounds, had clear control of the ball in his palm, and let the ball go as he hit the ground. Apparently, that’s not a catch — or a win for the Lions.

Tony Romo, who may be cursed, had a game-winning catch called back Sunday night as well. That time, though, nobody thought that the refs were making a mistake.

All in all, it was a big first Sunday in the NFL.

Pete Carroll got his team and the fans college-excited with a 31-point rampage against the 49ers.

Michael Vick set the stage for a career revival and potential quarterback controversy in Philadelphia, and Arian Foster and Hakeem Nicks came out of nowhere to put up astronomical numbers.

Even a near-perfect performance from Peyton Manning wasn’t enough to save the Colts, nor was a suddenly-good Darren McFadden enough for Oakland.
