Marco Scutaro Continues to Play Through Pain in Year of Red Sox Injuries When fans look back at the first year of the Marco Scutaro era at shortstop for the Red Sox, one word should continue to come to mind: dependable.

Scutaro, who wouldn't use his ailing shoulder as an excuse for his costly error in Tuesday night's game, downplayed the effect its had on him after another impressive showing on Wednesday night in the Sox' 9-6 win over the Orioles.

"It's a little sore, but I don't like to make excuses," Scutaro said when NESN's Heidi Watney asked him about the shoulder and playing through pain. "I just go out there and try to do my best."

Scutaro, who's only missed four games this season despite playing through the pain, hit his eighth home run of the season in the Red Sox' comeback win.
