Claude Julien, Bruins Expecting Gritty Matchup With Penguins

Claude Julien, Bruins Expecting Gritty Matchup With Penguins Bruins head coach Claude Julien knows that the upcoming matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins is going to be a physical one, but he’s hoping his team won’t focus on the past when playing at the CONSOL Energy Arena on Wednesday night.

While Matt Cooke‘s hit on Marc Savard continues to resonate throughout the Boston organization, Julien says focusing on revenge will only distract the team from their current goal of winning hockey games.

“If we keep wanting revenge here for the next two or three years, I think we’ll lose a lot of focus on what we have to do right now,” Julien told reporters on Tuesday.

According to Julien, the team has plenty of motivation without thinking about the Cooke hit, since the anticipation for the intense matchup should be incentive enough to play hard against the Penguins.
