Bruins center Marc Savard returned to practice with the Bruins on Saturday morning, and head coach Claude Julien said it was reassuring to hear him "chirp" his teammates in the locker room. It's a sign that the Bruins forward is that much closer to a return to the roster.
Savard told reporters that he was smarter about the concussion recovery this time around, and put his health before his hockey sense.
"You can't let the hockey player get ahead of the person," Savard said. "I think that's what I did, I just wanted to play. That's just me and I think every other guy in this league wants to play. Sometimes you just try and get through things and obviously your brain is not one of the things you should be battling through and I learned that the hard way."
