2010 is nearing its end, and as a result, year-end titles and lists are beginning to emerge in conversation.
Sports Illustrated‘s Sportsman of the Year is among those titles up for debate, and Dennis and Callahan mulled the many options on Tuesday’s show.
Manny Pacquiao and Sidney Crosby were among their favorite choices.
Pacquiao’s role as a politician in the Phillipines, humanitarian and dominant five-year undefeated run have surely put him in contention — though it is difficult for a boxer, particularly a non-heavyweight boxer, to win such an award.
Oftentimes, the honor is given to an Olympic athlete, and Crosby fits the bill perfectly. Not only did he lead the NHL in goals in 2010, but he was Canada’s Olympic hero, scoring the winning goal for Canada to give them the gold in their national sport on home soil.
As for other nominees like Josh Hamilton and Kurt Warner, Dennis and Callahan thought they were old news.
See what they had to say above.
