In the NHL, every game is a test, and to prepare themselves for that test each team has to study accordingly. That's where video preparation comes in.

In addition to practices, coaches and players spend a significant amount of time studying video of their upcoming opponent in order to prepare for the matchup. Often, teams will watch video of their own performances in past games to correct any mistakes they may have been making.

Bruins analyst Andy Brickley described just a few of the things coaches and players are looking for when studying video of their upcoming opponent. According to Brick, there is a lot of video work that goes into each and every game.
