Every now and then, you need a kick in the pants to get back on the right track.

That's what the Bruins got during Tuesday's practice. Following a disappointing shutout loss against the Ducks on Monday night, Claude Julien led the Bruins through what was described as a "spirited" practice.

Tempers were flaring at Ristuccia Arena, as the team's frustrations were laid out on the ice. Julien is hoping the chippy practice will help lift the team's standards in this successful sports town.

"There are expectations here from outside from fans and people," Julien told reporters on Tuesday. "There's a lot of winning going around in this city, and if you want to be part of it you have to show up and play hard every night."
