Singer Josh Groban Mocks Rich Rodriguez's Emotional Plea to Save Job Though he did finally post a winning record in his third season at Michigan, Rich Rodriguez is having to pull out all of the stops to try to keep his job as Wolverines head football coach.

Alum Jim Harbaugh getting Stanford into a BCS Bowl hasn’t much helped, and it was Harbaugh’s non-presence at Michigan’s football banquet on Thursday that was the big story — until Rodriguez let the emotions flow.

According to ESPN, Rodriguez fought back tears, talking about the toll his job has taken on his family, and used passages from the Bible and a Josh Groban song during an emotional address that closed the team’s banquet.

“I truly want to be a Michigan man,” he said.

Groban, however, wasn’t buying it. He tweeted on Friday, “Coach Rodriguez, I’m very flattered but crying to You Raise Me Up is SO five years ago. #playwelcometothejungle.”

The meaning of the “playwelcometothejungle” hashtag remains unclear.

For now at least, Rodriguez remains the head coach at Michigan.
